Drawing Development In Children
One of the things I am fascinated by in child development is their creativity and the development of their drawings as children grow. After the role play, which is interesting to observe and often quite entertaining, drawings are my next best thing to observe and compare. Yes I collect the best ones as it gives a very good overview of not only creative development, but also hand-eye coordination development.
Here, I found an interesting breakdown of why children draw the way they do at certain stage of life. They might of course jump onto the next drawing stage later or earlier than suggested in the table.
I have also noticed that colouring techniques become better between ages 3 and 4. with more respect to borders, more conscious choice of colour and even additions of their own.
